Our Craft

NEONWORKS pieces are hand-built by a small team of technicians and Nixie specialists in our atelier. Every step is deliberate, documented, and reversible.

Tube Sourcing & Testing

Original Soviet-era Nixie tubes (IN-14, IN-18, ZM1042, Z566M) are sourced from verified storage lots. Each tube is bench-tested for cathode emission uniformity, segment balance, and digit segmentation before it is paired to a piece.

Housing & Materials

Cases are machined from aerospace-grade aluminum and finished with a hard-anodized coating. Sapphire-coated glass protects the display. Wood accents (where present) are hand-oiled with a food-safe matte finish.

Hand Assembly

A single technician assembles each piece from start to finish. Key build parameters — torque values and calibration readings — are recorded in our internal build record against the order number.

Quality Assurance

Every piece is burned in for 72 hours before dispatch, with continuous monitoring of brightness, segment balance, and HV stability.
